Brazilian Butt Lift Safety
After decades of admiration for the super skinny and shapeless, today’s appreciation for a large posterior that “pops” is refreshing and fun, unless you have not been blessed by nature with a full bottom that looks great in jeans. Fortunately for you, there are options available to give you the JLo booty every woman dreams of having. The question is, however, are the methods safe? The two most popular methods used today, butt implants and the Brazilian butt lift can both be safe when performed by qualified and experienced surgeons, but the results can vary greatly and there is greater Brazilian butt lift safety compared to implants.
Butt Implants
Butt implants involve inserting a silicon device (similar to breast implants) under the skin of the buttocks. Because a foreign object is being introduced to your system, the risk of infection can be much higher than with the Brazilian butt lift. There is often more pain, pressure against the sciatica nerve, and shifting of the implant, which is why the procedure never gained popularity, even though it has been around for over 60 years. In addition, the shape often looks unnatural and can droop over time, which defeats the purpose of the implant. Unlike breast implants, buttock implants can last forever because they do not need to be replaced after some years. In general, implants can cost more than a fat transfer bbl (check the bbl cost page).
Brazilian Butt Lift Safety
The Brazilian butt lift is more of a fat transfer system. We take fat from areas you don’t want it in, like your stomach or thighs, and move it to your backside. Because it is your own fat, chances of infection are greatly reduced and Brazilian butt lift safety is enhanced, meaning recovery periods are shortened. The fat also has a more natural appearance than of the silicone used in implants and lasts for a much longer time; some patients have seen their results last over 20 years! Some fat may be absorbed into the body over time, but most will stay where it was placed, allowing for a smooth and curvy appearance that you will enjoy for years to come.
Side Effects and Possible Complications
All surgical procedures will have some risks and complications, but the Brazilian butt lift offers far fewer than implants do, especially when performed by experienced and caring physicians like ours at Infini. Some of the problems experienced under this procedure include asymmetry, bleeding, and decreased sensation. Infection can set in, but that tends to happen more with a butt implant procedure.
